Maureen
Moriarty-Sheehan is a certified adult nurse practitioner. She obtained
her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland in 1979.
A Master’s degree in primary care was completed from the University
of Maryland in 1985. Ms. Moriarty-Sheehan worked with Dr. William
G. Speed III in an internal medicine practice with a headache specialty
for fifteen years. She then practiced at Georgetown University in
the out and inpatient care of patients with headache disorders.
Ms. Moriarty-Sheehan taught residents and medical students in formal
lecture and clinical rotations in the Headache Clinic.
Currently a member of the Board of Directors of ACHE (American Counsel
of Headache Education), she has served on the editorial board of
Headache (a peer-reviewed journal for medical professionals who
care for headache patients), and she has been a member of the American
Headache Society since 1986. Ms. Moriarty-Sheehan has lectured locally
and nationally on topics related to headache management. She has
been involved in clinical research and advocacy endeavors for the
headache patient.
